Co-invest is one of our four ways of working together. We set up a company together with 50/50 shares and IP. You run sales and operations, we run product, tech and the CTO role. We both only earn when the product sells, ideally through a licence per user.

We only run a handful at a time, because each co-invest takes years. Just looking for a solution and not a company? Then IP discount or a project on assignment fits better.

We build your solution on our own platform. The custom work is yours after payment, the platform stays ours. Because we may offer that platform to other companies, you pay 75% of the build cost instead of 100%. After go-live there’s a fixed support fee for hosting, maintenance and small improvements.

It fits companies that want a problem solved without running an IT project or hiring people.

It depends on what you build and on the model. On assignment you pay the full build cost on a fixed-scope quote. With IP discount you pay 75% of the build cost, because the platform underneath stays ours, and then a fixed support fee. In co-invest we share the investment in a joint company.

We don’t quote without talking first. After the thinking phase you know exactly where you stand.

Five steps: a first conversation, a thinking phase where we work out scope and feasibility, agreements on paper, building in short sprints with something to test every few weeks, and go-live with maintenance after.

We never skip the thinking phase. It’s where our name comes from: kangaeru is Japanese for “to think”.

A first version you can put in front of real users is usually there within a few months. Large platforms take longer, but we deliver those in pieces too, so you’re never waiting months for nothing. After the thinking phase you get a planning we stick to.

Yes. Bugs that show up in the first six months after delivery, we fix at no cost. After that you can keep hosting and maintenance with us, so the team that built your product also keeps it running.

Mobile apps for iOS and Android, web platforms and customer portals, backends and integrations with existing systems, and AI that fits into your processes. Plus our own products in KangaSuite. We pick the technology per project; we’re not married to one framework.

It depends on the model. On assignment: yes, at delivery you get the source code of what we built for you. With IP discount the custom work is yours after payment, and you get a licence to our platform underneath. That’s why you pay less. In co-invest the IP belongs to the company we set up together, 50/50.

Either way your data stays yours, and who owns what is on paper before we start.

Our own set of AI tools for office work: KangaPlanner for projects and issues, KangaProjects for capacity planning and KangaAuth for single sign-on are live. Yes, with one caveat. For co-invest we look for experienced founders and companies who know their industry, not an idea without anyone behind it. On assignment we work for industrial groups, governments and consultancies, from Umicore to the European Commission.

Yes, KPS among others. The consultancy brings the client and the industry knowledge, we build and maintain the software, under your brand if needed. For products you want to sell to several clients, that can run in co-invest too: a product together, shared IP, and we take the technical side.

Because we invest along when we believe in your product, and say no when we don’t. You work with a fixed senior team that has its own products on the market, not with a row of account managers. And you choose how: with IP discount, in co-invest, with KangaSuite or simply on assignment.
